Will to Win is defined as the intensity of the desire to defeat an opponent or to exceed some performance standard in a given report. Individuals high in Will to Win should be very competitive and should feel that winning is the major (if not only) reason for competing.
This test has immediate relevance in understanding the athlete’s performance. The questionnaire may be successfully used by physical educators, trainers, coaches, and sports psychologists as a screening device to identify the individual’s performance in a sports activity. The shortness and simplicity of the questionnaires makes it very practical. It can be used in almost any competitive sports situation involving participants of either sex from the late teens up. It can be administered to both individuals and groups.
The split-half reliability index of the scale for males is .93 and for females is .92. The Test-Retest reliability index for males is .92 and for females is .90.
