Description
PGI-Children’s Memory Scale measures the memory in children from 6 years to 13 years 11 months. The test measures 10 subtests: –
1. Remote Memory, 2. Recent Memory, 3. Attention and Concentration, 4. Delayed Recall, 5. Immediate Recall, 6. Similar and Dissimilar pairs, 7. Visual Recognition, and 8. Visual Retention.
The test-retest reliability coefficients ranged from 0.53 to 0.91.
It is easy to administer and less time-consuming and an appropriate tool to assess the memory of children. The total time taken to assess memory is thirty minutes approximately. It is available in English or Hindi language.

1. It is meant for those who have at least borderline intelligence.
2. It is meant for those who are not profiting from normal schooling.
3. It is meant for those who are having behavioral or conduct problems, learning disabilities, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, etc.
4. It gives a profile of learning and remembering.
5. It is cost-effective and has no recurring expenditure.
6. It can give important information about hemispheric imbalance.
