Description
An 80-item, self-administered, Functional Social Support Questionnaire (FSSQ) has been developed to measure the availability of support from various organizational (work-related) and extra-organizational (non-work) sources. These items refer to what other people do (the function they perform) rather than only the existence of other people in social structure. There are two sections to the questionnaire. The first section measures extra-organizational sources of support which include support from family, friends, and spouses. The second section of the questionnaire aims to measure organizational sources of support which include support from co-workers and supervisor/ immediate officers. The time limit is 20 to 30 minutes and is available in English.
