Problem-solving and decision-making are essential skills for business and life. Problem-solving and decision-making are interlinked and interwoven. To solve a problem one has to make a decision and generate an actionable idea or make an actionable plan. The five areas measured through this scale are:
1) Approach and Root Cause Analysis, 2) Pros and Cons analysis:
A:Strength/Positive/Opportunity/PositiveAspect,,B:Weakness/Negative/Threat/Caution Analysis.
3) Creative Approach, 4) Emotions/Gut feelings, 5) Conclusion/Solution/Decision.
This test believes that problem-solving and decision making is needed at every stage of life. However, the types of problems may be different as per age and situation of the subject. The situation can be one or two liners. For a child of middle or low socioeconomic status, the problem may be how to get the chocolate or ice cream and for an affluent class child, the situation can be how to raise the pocket money or get a mobile phone. For the test allocated time is 40 minutes.
