Environment plays an important role in an individual’s life. Family relationships play an important role in an individual’s life pattern from early childhood through adulthood. The present home environment scale is an instrument designed to measure the psychological climate of the home as perceived by the parents. It provides the measure of the quality of cognitive, emotional, and social support that is provided by the parents to their children. The present scale has 50 items belonging to 10 dimensions of the home environment. In all 40 were positively worded and 10 were negatively worded. Home Environment Scale can be administered to an individual or in a group setting.
