The Body Image Scale is well standardized in the Hindi language that provides a highly reliable score and allows for the measurement of the body image of an individual thinking about their body at present, range of ages 18-45 years. The BIS consisted of major 5 areas (weight perception, wish for a fit body, satisfaction with the body, body part dissatisfaction, and health consciousness), which can find out positive and negative body image perceptions. It can be administered individually or in small or large groups in about 10 minutes. Raw scores are reported as Percentile scores and average scores. As the psychometric strength of the scale is well established, it can be used in future research by health psychologists, dietitians, and nutritionists to identify body image concerns among youth.
