Description

Procrastination is defined as the voluntary and irrational delay of a planned course of action even when it is known that this delay may have negative consequences. The scale is designed to measure Adolescents’ Academic Procrastination (14-17 years of age). The term ‘Academic Procrastination’ is constrained to academic-related activities and is defined as voluntarily delaying an intended course of study-related action despite expecting to be worse off for the delay. The scale consists of 5 dimensions; Academic Perfectionism, Academic Motivation, Self-regulation, Conscientiousness, and Academic self-efficacy. Even though the current scale was designed primarily for students in senior secondary school students (11th and 12th ), however, it may also be applied to high school students (9th and 10th ). The scale adequately explored various aspects of Academic Procrastination and its various dimensions. Moreover, factor analysis has confirmed the factorial validity and constructs validity of the present scale. The scale and the factors showed high levels of internal consistency.
